Prudhoe Dolphins was founded in 1992 by Nigel Bush, the then headmaster of Prudhoe Castle First School, and Michael MacDonald a swimming Instructor and Duty Manager at Waterworld.

The emphasis of the club has always been, and is today, to promote and improve a swimmers ability in a friendly structured format.

Although a non competitive club we have always participated in the annual gala at Haltwhistle between Haltwhistle, Hexham and Prudhoe clubs.

Since 2001 Prudhoe Dolphins have formed a link with Prudhoe’s twin town Mitry Mory and their swimming club and several swimmers have been to Mitry and we have entertained their swimmers here in Prudhoe.

Every year the Club hosts a presentation night with a disco and buffet where the club trophies and medals are presented, these are not only for speed but include personal achievement awards.
